Words from the composer: “‘Salutation Over Fractal Ground’ is a work in two sections, depicting how light reflects off a snowy landscape: first the moonlight, causing a crystalline glimmer; then the sunrise, glowing warmly and painting the snow with beautiful pastels. I play with ideas of colour and timbre, and model the shape of the piece around waking up peacefully and then enthusiastically starting my day.”
