Music for Six Trumpets

Music for Six Trumpets was composed by Vaclav Nelhybel and edited by Bryan Doughty. Linear-modal orientation and autonomy of melodic lines are complemented in many of Nelhybel’s works by the tension generated by accumulations of dissonance, the increasing of textural densities, exploding dynamics, and the massing of multi-hued sonic colors. Though frequently dissonant in texture, Nelhybel's music always gravitates toward tonal centers, which makes it so appealing to performers and listeners alike. Christopher Keach recorded all six parts for this piece as well as edited the audio and video.

Within Sacred Walls

Within Sacred Walls, written by Erik Morales, was commissioned for the 35th anniversary of the International Trumpet Guild. This performance was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic by trumpeters from all over. This project was a way to connect with others despite the distance between us. Both the video and audio were edited by Christopher Keach. Special thanks to the other musicians who made this possible:

Olivia Achcet, Vanderbilt University

Derek Wolfe, Crane School of Music

Julia Stowell, Crane School of Music

Josh Nightingale, Syracuse NY

Connor Hogan, Pleasant Valley NY

This Little Light of Mine

Another project created during the COVID-19 pandemic was the virtual performance of “This Little Light of Mine” with United Methodist Preschool in Babylon. Students, aged 3-5, and teachers sent in videos of themselves singing the song. Christopher compiled all the videos and audio together, as well as created the musical backtrack for the video.
